Accreditation


 

CARF - SouthSTAR is accredited by the Commission of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in employment and community services through September 2012.  Accredited services include: organizational employment, job development, job supports, job site training, community housing and community integration.

SouthSTAR was given a rating of exemplary conformance for taking a leadership role in the development of a collaboration consisting of eight nonprofit community based human service organizations to share resources and purchasing power.  This collaboration has grown into Community Service Partners, a nonprofit organization located in Mokena, IL. 

SouthSTAR was commended for its vision and leadership in the area of self advocacy.  Ray of Hope Self Advocates (ROHSA) is an organized group of Self Advocates who meets regularly.  They discuss advocacy issues, recommend changes to state policies, make improvements the SouthSTAR's service delivery system,  and  strive to improve the lives of people with disabilities.  

Licensing

DHS - SouthSTAR is licensed in Developmental Training (Day Services) and Community Integration Living Arrangement (CILA) by the Illinois Department of Human Services.

IFSSA - SouthSTAR is licensed in Community Transition, Residential Habilitation, Work Place Assistance, Family and Caregiver Training, Respite, and Transportation by the Indiana Family and Social Security Administration.

US Department of Labor - SouthSTAR is certified as a Sheltered Workshop by the U.S. Department of Labor, the Labor and Hour Division.
