Volunteer

Volunteers play a crucial role at SouthSTAR Services. Without the help of hundreds of volunteers' time and talent, SouthSTAR Services would be unable to provide the best possible care for the adults we serve.

Individuals and groups contributed to over 10,000 volunteer hours a year. If you and your group are interested in volunteering, here are some ways you can help:

Office Assistance: Typing, filing, assist with mailings, answering phones

Residential Maintenance: Painting, cleaning, decorating, landscaping at residential homes

Fundraising Events: Volunteer the day of events, Sell raffle tickets, donate in-kind items, Volunteer the day of events, Assist with ticket sales, Help with publicity of events, Special Olympics, Donate uniforms for events, Serve as volunteer the day of the Olympics

Direct Care Services: Spend one-on-one time with consumers in the workshop, Help supervise breaks and lunches at SouthSTAR, Assist staff with job set-up, Chaperone outings, Assist individuals with shopping trips, banking, etc., Drive and assist individuals on routine medical and dental appointments
