Community Living Services SouthSTAR Services operates a number of community residential programs, which allow people with all levels of disabilities to live in homes in the surrounding communities.We offer twenty-four hour supervised living for individuals with developmental disabilities. The residents, families and staff work closely together to meet the individual needs of the individuals. Each resident is an active participant in his or her home, work and community. SouthSTAR owns and operates four homes in surrounding communities.
The residential program focuses on providing training, education, and support. We assist individuals in setting and accomplishing their goals of independence and work with individuals to become members of their community. Each person is provided with the structure and support to live in a safe and secure environment. At home, each individual plans and helps prepare nutritious meals, and takes responsibility for chores and personal appearance. In the community, they work on skills including shopping, money management, planning activities and hobbies. Many have also become member of local clubs, churches and organizations. They also enjoy other recreational activities such as dances, movies, golf, bowling and visiting friends.
