Community Living Specialist:   (FT – 30+ hrs/wk and PT 20 – 29 hrs/wk)  This position reports to the House Manager at one of our four Group Homes  in the south suburbs.  Responsibilities include supervising and working with persons with developmental disabilities to reach their potential in areas of independent living.

Qualifications:   High school diploma, valid drivers license, CNA or DSP certification and one year of related experience.

Personal Support Worker  (PT – 20 hrs/wk) As SouthSTAR expands it’s home-based services to both adults and children we have a growing need for personal support workers.   The hours are flexible and will be scheduled to meet the needs of the client and family. The essential duties include:   

• Providing services in the client’s home and community
• Implementing daily activities in their service plan by providing supervision, instruction and monitoring of individualized programming.
• Participate in interdisciplinary staffings, including at the school.
• Collect and record data related to the individual service plan.

Qualifications:   High school diploma, a minimum of one year related experience, a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.  Candidates with experience working with autism are encouraged to apply.
